Dr. Jamie Loizzo is an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communication (AEC) and affiliate faculty of the School of Natural Resources and Environment at the University of Florida. Her classes are focused in the agricultural and natural resources communication specialization, where she incorporates both science communication and technology into her teaching style.

Originally from Hillsboro, Illinois, Loizzo earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in radio television (news) from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Education degree from Purdue University, studying learning design and technology, before earning her doctorate degree in the same program.

Loizzo came to AEC with past experience as a journalist and video producer for Purdue Agricultural Communication, as well as working in television newsrooms in Illinois, Kentucky, and Florida. She founded Streaming Science, a project-based learning and mobile electronic field trip program for 21st Century science communication education, the MOOCocracy platform- an online, learner-centered, social democracy for engaging in global science issues.

Loizzo also advises graduate students in the department and facilitates the SciLit Digital Research Group.
